Stealing has been an ancient trade. But, its sad that the only thing that we trackers want, our name stuck to our songs and whatever limited glory, is stripped off as well, so much for giving things out for free.
I have put in quite a bit of effort to get any good at our art and have not really got anything for the hours of music I have churned out. It would be limited on my part though to ONLY expect something in return for my efforts. I'm sure there are thousands of hours dedicated to tracking and am cognizant of the pains that are put into each channel.
Tracking has always been a hobby for me and now that hobby has increased to something that I treasure a lot. I always used to complain to myself that people don't even bother to write a 1 line email about our tracks in appreciation but then again, it is really sad to see tracks being stolen and no credit given to the original artist. Agreed a lot of commercial tracks are being sold illegally as well, but those guys make some money, we make this stuff for free... its like stealing money from a talented beggar, dopey association, but all the same... tacky guys like D.J. Carbon and that idiot who ripped Melcom's stuff are not uncommon and it is also not physically possible to monitor the whole net and commercial scene for ``thiefs`` but life is never fair.
Its a nice and confusing situation. There are SO many trackers... its so easy to grab a track from somewhere and use it for some commercial purpose while the poor tracker thinks that some day he will make it big, its shabby...
So much for getting my depressing thoughts out... all you thieves will rot in hell...
Cheers to the guys who deserve it...
